i dont know if there will still be people reading the almost dead class blog.
still, i want to post.

RECALL..
the first day we stepped into the classroom, we saw almost all familiar faces, except 2. nadiah and praise. they became part of our class. from then on we are 2a3, no longer 1a3.

we had a new teacher. new form teacher to be specific. MS XU! somehow, we know she would be a good teacher, i mean we might know.

i cant remember much, but when we had our first 2a3 class party, it was chaotic. not all joined, however glad that some joined. remembered gavin had a great big cream smashed on his face. water bombs flying all around, landing on each other. we had fun. not forgetting the cake that mokhtar made for us ;D

sports carnvial. although we didnt came in 1st, we got at least 2nd. we displayed teamwork, bondings and most importantly sportsmanship. all this live down in the roots of our heart. we did lose, however, we won. we lost, it's obvious. but consider how many other classes we won, we still won. anw, it's not about the winning or the lossing, it's about the memories that live forever.

english week. we came in top. see? we can win also ;D efforts are rewarded, however not all the times. kindness week. we topped again ;DDD it's everyone's effort, not just the ppl involved, but also those who did the work behind the scene. spelling bee competition. the ppl done our class proud. we won lots more, too many to list. to be truthful, i forgot.

we've encouraged each other along, all the way till our literature project. although we're divided into 2groups, the spirit remains. the everlasting supportive spirits. we topped the level with the production. good job!

further down, we had our end of year examinations. later on, we were divided into our respective classes. life have to carry on, no matter what regrets we have; not cherishing the moments or what. let's all move on, however, do not leave the memories lying behind you. take them with you, take them and use them as your motivation and encouragement.

although we might not be together, we had been together.

Moving on from all the HAPPY BIRTHDAYs.

Everyone I talk to from 2a3 '07 is complaining about their new class! That makes me feel good, lol, 'cause now I know I'm not the only one.

But the really good thing is that everyone has tiny tiny things to complain about, not huge gigantic things like "I HATE MY [swearword] CLASS", just normal stuff that infuriates them, and it'll get solved easily enough, so it shows that everyone's meshing pretty well with their own classes, besides the small problems. That's good because, well, we all have to move on sometime!

The thing is, when we move on, we can't forget. That's my problem, when I move on from things, I tend to forget the good times I've had with what I moved on FROM when my mind gets preoccupied with the things I moved on TO.

If you didn't understand that, it's okay, because it took me a few seconds to work out what I said too.

So, anyway, moral of the story, folks, MOVE ON, but KEEP IN TOUCH!

Time flies! Remember? 2years back, we were still in primary school. Maybe taking PSLE results soon. 1year 11mths back, we were in a class known as 1a3, with Mr Lim as our form teacher.

And 11mths ago, we have Praise and Nadiah as our new friend, Ms Xu as our new form and hist teacher, Mr Pang as our new maths teacher, Mrs Zahri as our new lit teacher, Ms Tan as our lit teacher also, Ms Oi our new English teacher, Mdm Azzah and Mrs Loke as our new geog teacher. Anymore? Yes! Mr tan as our new PE teacher.

Plus 13days ago, we just parted as a class. "2a3 Ends" writen by Gavin on the board. And today, we are having our class party cum BBQ and not all can turn up. it's something most would regret about.

Yupps! We play as a class, have fun most the time with each other. Maybe when there's quarelling with one another, the class laughed? Remember kaisheng and jeffrey? chasing around the class? That was a joke to us right? Maybe not to them.

Dearest 2a3, sorry that all I can promise is that I MAY drop by. Pls understand that I really cannot attend class gatherings especially if you guys are gonna have it at a location with potential dangers. I really cannot be held responsible for whatever happens. Even then, I had one of you calling me to ask me to speak to your parents about the party so they could allow you to go and I had to turn you down. Sorry about that but I did not want your parents to think that I endorsed the party and would be there throughout to take care of you. If you insist that you are responsible and old enough, I am not denying that but I really cannot take charge of something not under the school unless I am prepared to take full responsiblity of which I admit I am not when you are going to a park with a sea and it gets me really worried for you all also. Thing is, in all honesty to you, I am still in the midst of working on a stop animation video presentation with my friend for my friend's wedding this Thursday and we only started on Tues so we are working on a very tight schedule since we have not completed it yet. I do apologise for unforseen circumstances but pls do try not to take my attendance into consideration when planning class events outside of school. Some of you told me to come as a friend, I can't because I am not your friend...yet...at least not till you graduate from OPSS, some of you told me to take charge since I am your teacher, of which I don't think I have the capacity to and would not be held responsible for it if I come as your teacher. just because we'll never really sit through boring lessons as a class ever again, just because we'll never enjoy winning awards as a class together again, it doesn't mean that everyone has to start getting so upset. look at it from another angle, we've completed one phase of our secondary school lives. we've made our choices for our classes next year, and we're moving on to better things. we're going our own way to achieve something that is special to us. we're aiming for something that will benefit us and in all probability, give us a more secure future. well, not that far... but you know what i mean. we're pursuing whatever means something to us. and isn't that good? we are doing ourselves a favour by splitting up and choosing whatever we think would suit us the best. of course, we'll all miss the good times we had this year. crying, rolling around in our beds and shouting, wondering why we made those choices and all the regrets we had this year. we would wonder and wonder. we would wish that time could be turned around, but we have to wake up. we have to face up to this reality and move on. we have to keep moving and keep progressing. after all, what good would it do if we don't move? i'm just saying that maybe things aren't as bad as they seem. like ms xu keeps stressing, "look at things in a more positive light". i can't say i agreed with that line the first time she said it but i think we can all appreciate the interpretation behind that now.

gems at every turn of life

The last day of school was nothing short of emotional for all. Yet I wish I had more precious moments with you guys in 2a3 today. Nonetheless, it was a meaningful concert put up for Mr Low and Gavin's right, it was really pretty hard to see him cry that many other teachers were brought close to tears as well for him. Being the form teacher of such an amazingly unique class for the year was one of the most rewarding things that happened to me as well. You cannot even begin to imagine how much I have learnt from some if not all of you, about life and sometimes just thinking about closing the chapter with all of you this year, really drives me to near tears, especially seeing the last few postings by some of you on your reflections, the photos and the class video, I cannot help by tear retardedly in front of the computer screen. Thanks for the memories, the emotions I went through because of all of you. Perhaps some of you were right, I was being a tad too protective of you at times in loving you too much but at the end of the day, I really hope each of you have grown in your own special ways each and have lessons in life to carry along life's journey from this year. A commonly asked question, if you could do one thing in life all over again differently, what would it be? I guess I won't change a single thing, everything happens for a reason to build us up to something better in life. Thanks for the little reminders from you to always be sensitive with my words, to not be careless with people's feelings, to be fair in my judgement as a teacher, to be consistent and credible in the things I say and to never forget to see the best in others first, no matter how someone else taints an ugly picture of another person. I do apologise if I have faltered along the way and perhaps have unwittingly hurt some of you in the proccess, I guess no matter the age, we are all still feeling our way through life and making the best of it at every corner. Thanks for brightening up my life in 2007, my 40 little gems of 2a3 whom I hold so dear in my heart. It's a fun and tiring year. Too much bad comments from the start of the year. Ms Xu was getting more and more disappointed at us, but she never fails to protect us. Our form teacher has a good sense of tolerance , i suppose. We could have been handed over to Mr Tan or Ms Soo for disciplinary actions. However, she did not. Maybe that's why there's no improvement in the comments in the class diary. Maybe, who knows?

We all had fun in the class. With the washing of tables, rather cleaning, and going around helping people during curriculum time. There's no class better than 2a3 i suppose. No class as united, as clever, as hyper. Our spirit remains, deep inside all of us. Who dares not say;

Hi guys,

reading all your recent postings really warms my heart...I've seen each and every one of you grow up so quickly in the one year I got to know you and earn the place of being your form teacher. It's heartwarming also to know that guys remember the things I tell you and you make sense of it and take ownership of it by using it and making them yours. And it suddenly feels weird to leave without writing a reflection about the time we've spent together and stuff. Lol, I suppose all those times writing reflections for Ms Xu actually made me too used to it and now I'm doing it on my own time. x)

Finally everything is over! Maybe it's time for play or time for fun, but i don't look forward to holidays. Holidays means we're going to part. a whole united class, play together, study together. everything going to be gone. Remember the times we use to gather together and concentrate on something? Did our part where we can? Win competitions and lose together? And go for cheshire home visit+ barbeque? Or maybe getting creams on our faces? Things were so nice then. However, it's not going to last long. It's ending soon. Who cannot bear to leave? Who cannot bear to forget? Who cannot bear to cry? Who cannot bear to miss? Miss the times. I will miss. What about you? Maybe we are separating into different classes and pursue different dreams. But i hope the spirit would still be there. Greet when we see each other. Smile when we play together. I'm so looking forward to the next class party. I hope this blog would still exist and be updated till we all were buried.

I read a book entitled 'Fast Food Nation' and it is an amazing book! There's even a movie based on it starring Avril Lavigne. Anyway, did you know that in the slaughter houses where we get all our beef patties, at least 1000 untrained illegal Mexican immigrants are hired at each slaughter house? And because they're untrained, when they pull out the guts out of the cows, they can't avoid spillage. The manure and fecal material gets pulled out as well and that makes up our delicious beef patties. Very shocking, doncha think? Do you know how many people die each year, working at a slaughter house? There are at least 1000 recorded deaths, 20500 serious injuries (amputations, loss of limbs), and 53100 minor injuries. There are 50000 unrecorded deaths, 60000 unrecorded injuries and 867000 unrecorded injuries. For every recorded death, the slaughter house is required to pay US$450. So can you see how many people are suffering to make that one burger? This is like a RiCH lesson concerning a topic on awareness. Be aware of how people are dying for the fast food restaurants. Oh and if you look for part-time jobs, don't work in a fast food restaurant. According to managers' statistics reports, teenagers are easy to manipulate. Especially in fast food restaurants, where the pay is pathetic.

zhiqing here posting about the cheshire home visit. ahh, can't remember much of it now but i'll do my best. maybe i'll hand in another copy tomorrow as well to play safe.

the cheshire home visit was simply great. it helped me realise how many people out there who are really a lot less unfortunate than us. we were supposed to play games and interact with the people there so we split up in little groups. my 'group' consisted of me, Sarah, Samantha and Su Min. I THINK... and we sat at this little table with two residents. Me and sarah played uno stacko while su min and samantha did some colouring with the other resident. interacting with the residents wasn't as easy as i thought at could be. at times the residents just didn't seem to understand what we were saying and it got a little frustrating after awhile but surprisingly, i managed to have fun in the end anyway. i quite enjoyed our visit and hopefully we could, um, go back again another time.

was that good enough, Ms Xu? xD

and i would also like to add that i totally disagree with whatever was said for that upper secondary assembly talk yesterday. Animals give us the gift of friendship, love and generosity? i mean, we are the humans. we are the civilised and advanced race. We have emotions which are definitely stronger than these animals. Scientists test their experiments on rabbits. I say continue with what they're doing even if the rabbits die under sufferance. And yes, i am saying that the death of one species is less tragic than another. Why should we feel sorry for animals who die under the hand of humans? Why should we feel so sorry for the death of that particular rabbit? don't get me wrong here. i like rabbits. they're cute and they have nice eyes. But why should we feel sorry for their deaths when they never even feared death to begin with? animals are different from humans. Humans can feel and think and make the right decisions. Unfortunately, animals do not have that privilege. animals are regarded in this world and that's just it. that's life. and they all die for that bottle of shampoo, or perfume or any other type of human product. i say, let them die for the comfort of mankind! i may seem heartless to you but this us what i strongly believe.

hey Praise here to reflect on our Dim Sum Dollies trip...here it goes...

My first trip to the Esplanade to catch the show was a big BLAST for me. The show was totally hysterical and hilarious!! I think i was the only laughing loudly at my row? lols...On the contrary the show pretty much didn't reveal Singapore's history at all though it was huge success. I love the actors and actresses who acted in it. Of all the trips we had visited, the Battlebox, Bukit Chandu and to the Esplanade, it is much more better as there is alot of things to learn from the outside rather than stay in the classroom. As they say, " The world is your Classroom!!"

Though dis reflection is pretty short at least I'd spend my time on it!

Dim Sum Dollies was a hilarious, exciting and interesting play. As su min said, I also thought that it did not really show much of Singapore's history. i was expecting to see more of the Japanese Occupation part, but sadly, we've only got like the three dollies wearing the uniform Japanese and hanging from a tree and delivering their lines.. well, that wasn't much.
Besides that, the script was cool and we had quite a lot of laughs. The music is not too bad either, for i had that Sang Nila Utama tune stuck in my head..I am now having a tough time trying to suss it out. On the whole, I thought the star of the play was Hossan Leong. I had a pretty good time laughing at his actions and witty quips.

Hats off to the cast and crew of Dim Sum Dollies!

Reflections..--Dim Sum Dollies

The performance was very nice as they know how to play around with Singapore's History .. The costume was very special . They have beautiful voices also :D.
Though the play is quite long , it didn't really show Singapore History so much .. That's the bad point of it. Still , i find the way they show things interesting and unexpected.
I like it a lot .

well, i told ms xu that i've already done the reflections but haven't posted it yet. so...here goes.

the 'History Of Singapore' play was pretty good. It was interesting, funny, exhilarating, exciting, pretty sarcastic sounding, and far too educational. Sure, there were a few silly bits that deserved a good laugh. Like that bit when they were thinking of getting a British boyfriend but there were some parts when i almost fell asleep. And if you ask me, there is way too little of Hossan Leong. I mean, he's the one who really makes the audience laugh. Despite these few setbacks, i still enjoyed it. I just hope it helps improve my history grades...

The field trip to the Esplanade to watch the DimSumDollies was exciting and memorable. It wasthe 1st theater act i've ever seen as i always thought they were old fashioned and boring.But actually it was far better than expected.
The DimSumDollies made learning History morefun than Miss Xu's teaching by using jokes/puns/irony (no offense Ms. Xu, your teaching's great)Anyway, the DimSumDollies mostly uses local languages/slang/dialects to make sure we totallyunderstand or like the show. The downside is i was sitting to the far left and didn't get themiddle seat to get a better look at the show.
I hope that there would be a second show to continue our fun learning of Historyand be able to be present. (This is way 2 formal for my likin bt Ms. Xu has standards... i think...:) )
